Applied Motion Systems is a leading designer and builder of industrial automation and motion control systems serving a variety of industries including paper, forest products, aerospace and renewable energy. If you enjoy working with all things electro-mechanical and are known among your friends as the "go to" person when something might be the person we are looking for. We need a skilled Machinist to manufacture turned parts in our machine shop.

The successful candidate will naturally demonstrate attention to quality and detail. You should enjoy and take pride in the manufacture of quality machine parts and working in a team comprised of internal engineering. You need the ability to understand mechanical drawings, best machine practice and machine shop mathematics. You must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the turning of precision parts on manual lathe machine centers encompassing a wide variety of materials.

You should thrive in an environment with a wide variety of projects (versus repetitive production), where you build upon your technical skills and understanding. The accuracy and aesthetics of your work are both important. You should enjoy organizing and maintaining a clean, professional work environment. You will often work independently but in a team setting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and demonstrate a natural aptitude for machining engineered parts. The candidate must provide their own basic hand tools and be willing to adhere to our safe working practices.
